About Us
B.K.L. Walawalkar Rural Medical College, located in Sawarde, Taluka Chiplun, District Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, was established in 2015 by Shri Vithalrao Joshi Charities Trust. Situated in the Konkan region, the college was founded with a commitment to strengthen medical education and improve access to healthcare for rural communities.
Affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, the college provides medical education and clinical training in a rural healthcare setting. Its academic environment combines classroom instruction, laboratory learning, and supervised clinical experience to help students develop medical knowledge, practical skills, sound judgement, and professional ethics.
The college is attached to B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital, Diagnostic and Research Centre, which was established in 1996. Admission Process 2026, BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College
Admissions are strictly based on merit and conducted centrally by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.
The process -
- Candidates must qualify NEET-UG 2026 with the required percentile.
- Candidates must register online on the Maharashtra CET portal for counselling.
- Candidates must do the choice filling i.e. select BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College (Code: 01149) among their preferences.
- Seat allotment is based on CAP Rounds 1-3

Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Candidates must be 17 years old by 31 December of the year taking admission
